After leaving book publishing in London I moved to Camberley where I became a visual stylist for a major high street retail chain. I worked within their No.1 homeware department designing and implementing room sets to inspire customers and increase their sales. Whilst working as a stylist I completed my Diploma in Interior Design at Guildford College, after which I worked for several local interior designers on a variety of projects such as individual home interiors, show homes and furnishing rental properties.
Aside from work in interior design I have bought and sold many properties in London and the Home counties. Using my skills and personal experience I enjoyed all aspects of renovating properties for sale and managing rental properties with tenants. I still currently hold a small property portfolio, which I manage myself.
Whilst on maternity leave I took a teaching qualification to enable me to teach all aspects of interior design to adult. Such is my passion for all things design related I love to pass on the knowledge and inside tips I’ve built up over a number of years and as such have designed a number of courses. I have also enjoyed writing articles for a number of local magazines on the subject of interior design, including the Yateley Town Crier and Fleet Chatter.
