Bedroom - Ms G from Yateley
Having recently moved I was looking to personalise my newly built home. I contacted Paula through her website. Paula came to visit and we discussed the room I was looking at decorating. We discussed what were the most important elements of the room and colours I liked. Paula measured up the room and went away to put together a design scheme.
On our next meeting Paula had put together two design schemes that fitted the brief we had talked about previously. One was a tonal and scheme and one was more contrasting. Both schemes utilised furniture in the room I already had and wanted to keep.
The next step was to narrow down the choices within the chosen scheme and decided were we would use each element. Once this was decided, Paula commissioned the upholstery, adding a twist to a use bedroom chair by using a different colour for the front and back of the chair. Next was for the curtain maker to make and fit the roman blinds in a gorgeous yellow geometric design from India. The dramatic feature wallpaper picked up all the colours/style of the chair and roman blinds. The final decorations were some bespoke cushions and a beaded lampshade which Paula made. The decorations pulled the scheme together beautifully.
I have enjoyed working with Paula on several rooms in my house. Her eye for style and colour is spot on, and I trust her judgement and ability to visualise how a design scheme will look to deliver what I am looking for.
