Room Coordination - Fleet
Mr and Mrs G, Fleet
The brief given was that Mr and Mrs G were looking to create more cohesion between the sitting room and the dining room, which were connected by sliding doors, allowing the rooms to flow better.
A consideration was the new windows and doors going in, with the two single windows at the front of the house coming out to make way for one bigger window to allow maximum light in.
Other smaller windows to the side of the house were to have roman blinds, to offer privacy in the evenings when required.
The original source of inspiration for colours considered was based around an existing rug the clients had.
The curtain pole and curtains for the front windows which were to become one, had to be unobtrusive and modern, to tie in with the contemporary look of the fabric chosen for the eyelet curtains and the style of the room. The curtain pole for the other end of the room, the dining room, could have finials which stood out more and added a bit of sparkle. A faceted ball finial was added as a finishing feature.
